Angela Benson Bio/Gallery (Spoiler Alert!!!)

Angela Diana Benson is thirty-six years old at the beginning of Scourge. She was born to Marlin and Susan Benson in Plainview, Texas, and grew up in Hale Center, Texas, living there until she graudated high school at age eighteen.

Angela’s very bright, loves animals, and wants to help people when she can. One of the highlights was getting her first horse, Ellie, when she was ten. She’s a very competent rider, and honed her skills during her teen years.

She had the childhood of her dreams until she was twelve years old when the love and care from her father just stopped overnight. She had no idea what happened, or why, and she carries the marks on her soul.

She spent hours riding to avoid being at home and the abuse from her father, that made her feel worthless. When she couldn’t ride, she lost herself in her music, her books, and stolen moments with her mother. She confided in her mother, and had good times when alone with her, but she left home as soon as she could to get away.

Her graduation gift was the car she learned to wotk on with her father before the change, a black and red 1966 Mustang GT.. It was one of the only things that reminded her of what her dad used to be like, and even though she resented him, she couldn’t part with it.

She graduated college with a degree in Law Enforcement and a minor is Geology at the top of her class, then she took the big leap and moved to New York.

Her desire was to be one of New York’s finest, detective, but she was hired as a street cop. Needing to prove herself, she volunteered for one of the toughest beats in the city, understanding she had to work her way up through the ranks.

The work was hard, but she refused to give up, even though she had a number of partners, good and bad. She wanted to make a difference, and she was protecting people. Over time, she became aware of a senior detective named Joe Anderson that tended to have cases from her beat. She was drawn to his work, but stayed in her lane, doing her job to the best of her ability. She had no idea that Detecitve Anderson was even aware of her, but fate had other ideas.

Paired with a lazy partner, Angela did all the work and he took all the credit. Joe noticed. When his partner retired, Angela applied for the spot, wanting to do even more and work with a man she admired.

Just before her thrity-sixth birthday, she was promoted to detective, partner with Joe. It was a dream come true, and she put everything into being a great detective and impressing her mentor.

During a big homicide case, Angela’s world was turned on its head when she met Daxxe, a gargoyle tasked with protecting the Earth. She had no idea he was drawn to her, aware on some level of a power within her that she had yet to discover.

She walked away from her life as a detective to join Daxxe’s magical war, realizing that she could her protect everyone. She was unique, destined by forces beyond her comprehension to become one the the world’s greatest defenders, adding magic to her arsenal.

Along the way, she finds new allies to help. Most important of these are Sierra Marie Townsend and Tara Amelia Simmons. They’re drawn to each other, choosing to “pinky swear” themselves as sisters. Unbeknownst to them, they are actually half-sisters from the same father, Marlin Benson.

The balance, a near sentient energy, works to keep the realms right, but steps in when needed to make corrections. This push will give Angela back the one thing she missed growing up, helping make her life full and complete as a reward for her devotion.
