Detective Joe Anderson took a shine to her, and had her promoted to detective to be his partner. As a rookie detective, Angela uncovers a path to her destiny, one she knew nothing about, drawing her into a magical war of good versus evil.

Joe Anderson is senior detective with the NYPD who learned from one of the best. He is well-respected and focuses on the job, which led to issues with his home life and missed opportunities with his wife Michelle and his daughter Celeste. He was struck by tragedy when his family was killed in a violent crime, deepening Joe’s regret. He doubled-down on the work to try and make up for his past, and that path leads him to Angela. He sees her as a type of second chance to redeem himself for his past.

Daxxe is a gargoyle, born of magic, and created to protect Earth from the forces of evil. He is bound to working in darkness, thus requiring a protector to watch over him during daylight hours. On his hunt for Trokar, the dead bodies left behind catch the attention of the police, leading detectives Benson and Anderson to investigate. When he becomes aware of Angela, he realizes there is more to her than being a cop. He recruits her into his world to replace his fallen protector, unlocking abilities she didn’t know she had.

He has devoted his life to his religion, spending his youth traveling the globe and learning about many different ideologies. He is drawn into the world of magic when a mysterious stranger enters his church to confess to the mortal sin of murder. Eli is drawn into the related homicide case, testing his beliefs, as he shares info with the NYPD. Along the way, he discovers the hidden nature of the world and finds his path to help.

Sierra is an orphan that becomes a deputy with the Honesdale, Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Department. In their commitment to protect Wayne County, strange occurrences begin to happen, ranging from unexplainable events to violent murder. The events try Sierra’s sanity as she tries to understand what is happening to the citizens of the county, not to mention herself. When one of the events gets her suspended, she responds to a new calling that she cannot resist, leading her towards the Big Apple.

High School Student
Tara is a high school student in a one parent home, but her father drowns his troubles with alcohol when he isn’t blaming her for his ills. She feels lost without a real family, and just wants to be an important part of something. After she is the victim of an attack by one of Trokar’s clan, she vicariously meets Daxxe, and finds she has a special gift.

Velis is a god, and matriarch of a powerful magical family that oversees all that is good. She values choice above all else, and ensures a choice is always given. She is known to Daxxe as his first protector, but her role is much larger and has far more influence. She acts as a mentor for Angela, and has a special place in her heart for Angela, Sierra, and Tara.
Sheriff Dwight Hill
Sheriff
Dwight has a background in law, the military, and special operations. His top tier degree opened doors all over the country for him, but he wanted to go back home and protect his own. Sierra Townsend and Jake Abrams are his deputies for the small community, and he takes his role seriously. He deeply loves his wife, Kathy, and Sierra is basically an adopted daughter since they don’t have their own children.
Kathy Hill
Librarian
Kathy is the librarian for the Honesdale Public Library and the spouse of Dwight Hill. She is seen as a community leader of sorts, working to help when she can and always supporting her husband. She is sharp as a tack, very intelligent, and has a quick wit, a strong sense of humor, and a playful side.
Deputy Jake Abrams
Deputy
Jake is a young man that has always wanted to be in law enforcement and protect those that can’t protect themselves. He fits in very well under Sheriff Hill’s supervision, and cares about what he does. He’s soft-spoken, to the point some feared he couldn’t be in law enforcement, but he excels at it without becoming jaded.
Kalanak
Avatar
Kalanak is Velis’ avatar in the realm of Talamhan. A grand spell he created with other magic users was corrupted, ending with unexpected results. He works to correct that wrong, and assists Angela as she protects the realm of Earth. He is a strong wielder and very creative user of magic. He has complete faith in Velis’ leadership and approves of Angela as an avatar.
Donovan “Donnie” Bertelli
Government Agent
Donovan runs a agency for the government that doesn’t technically exist. His was supported by his parents, which got him involved in a wide array of activities that helped he be well-rounded, even though he has dealt with scrutiny due to his homosexuality. Through it all, he has a good head on his shoulders and he cares about the well-being of his team.
Nathaniel “Nate” Mason
Government Agent
Nate works for the same agency as Donovan, and he is very new to the job. He is wise for his tender age of twenty-two and the prefect gentleman. He wants to help people, and his background in data and information systems makes him a perfect fit for the job. He stands out from his peers, is very loyal, and holds his superiors and co-workers in high regard. He’s the guy Maddie has been hoping for.
Madison “Maddie” Thompson
Government Agent
Maddie works for the same agency as Donovan, and she’s his best friend. She is smart and capable with a wild side that can shame anyone. Although forward, she is loyal and cares about her family and friends. She has always had bad luck with the opposite sex, attracting to the “bad boy” type that never works out for her. She is also a top notch data analyst and trained marksmen, even though she’s only twenty-seven years old.
Erim

Erim is the polar opposite of his sister, Velis. His goal is to obtain dominion over the realm of Earth, using whatever means necessary to do it. He possesses those he chooses to serve as his avatars until he uses them up, just to discard them for another. He cares for nothing but himself and his carnal desires. His plan is to manipulate the balance to obtain his goals.
Shayla
Psychic Vampire
Shayla is a privileged, evil woman, filled with malice. She casts her personal pain onto those around her, relishing in the fallout. She was turned into a vampire willingly by Viktor, one of Trokar’s clan, in search of power. She was then “given” to Trokar, with the hope that Viktor and Shayla could wrench control from their leader. Trokar changed her into something more than a vampire, preparing her body to be a vessel for Erim, fortified and able to adapt. She despises Angela, her nemesis, and she gains strength in time with Angela’s advancements.
